It is the sequel to the 1984 film The Terminator and begins where that left off. In this movie, a T-800 terminator from 2029 comes back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor from a new terminator sent from 2029. Unlike its predecessor, this movie's plot includes more human characters with depth than just the two Terminators - Sarah Connor and her son John Connor Jr. receive much more development while the T-800 and other supporting characters from Part 1, such as Miles Dyson and Detective Vukovich, play roles in the storyline. In addition to the other cast members from part 1, Robert Patrick, Earl Boen, Joe Morton and S. Epatha Merkerson star in this movie. It was released on July 3, 1991 and was a critical and commercial success.The Terminator: Judgment Day begins immediately after the events of The Terminator with a title card saying "2029 A.D.", followed by a series of clips from the previous film illustrating what has happened since Kyle Reese rescued Sarah Connor and her son John from the original Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger). The Terminator and John Connor have been in hiding in a safe house since the T-800 Model 101 (Schwarzenegger) murdered Miles Dyson. John Connor's foster parents, Todd and Janelle Voight, are also there, but they remain asleep for the majority of the film. The future resistance leader is still haunted by nightmares of his apocalyptic future and has rejected both Sarah and Kyle Reese (Michael Edwards), who has taken to calling himself "the Guardian". The Guardian is entrusted with protecting Sarah while Kyle is sent back through time once again to protect her son when he was younger; this action was predicted by the Terminator (Schwarzenegger). John is initially reluctant to go back in time, but he ultimately decides to travel through a wormhole with Kyle and a small group of resistance fighters towards a Cyberdyne Systems research facility in the mountains of Mexico, also called "the Silo", where another terminator from the future has been sent by Skynet. The Guardian warns him about this machine, explaining that he will attack Sarah repeatedly until she is given a heart rate chip to prevent her from dying during the attack. The Terminator eventually makes its way back to the location where he last saw Sarah and John. Upon searching the residence there, it locates them in a truck escaping from an ambush set by an unknown attacker in a tank. The Terminator comes across the truck, killing the soldiers in the tank after they have burned out its hydraulic system. Kyle uses one of their grenade launchers to destroy the tanker, while he and John escape from it before it explodes. The soldier delivering the heart rate chip to Sarah is ambushed by another T-1000 (Robert Patrick), identical but for its liquid metal structure that means it can change shape to become virtually indestructible to most forms of damage. cfa1e77820
